Text: | The Tribute Of Our Thanks We Bring |
Author: | Christoph Fischer |
Translator: | H. Brueckner |
Tune: | SEDULIUS |
Harmonizer: | M. Praetorius |
1 The tribute of our thanks we bring
To Thee, our Savior, Lord and King,
Who, as the Lamb for sinners slain,
Dost for us all God's pardon gain.
2 Thou God and Man, we also pray
Thy sacred wounds may prove our stay,
Our comfort when we yield our breath,
Our rescue from eternal death.
3 Against all sin to take our stand,
O lend us Thine almighty hand;
Let all who here the cross must bear
The comfort of Thy suff'rings share.
4 May we the sweet assurance gain
That Thou to us wilt true remain
And strengthen us in ev'ry strife
Till we have passed thro' death to life.
