Viana Butler McCown was Director of Nursing in the School of Nursing at the University of SC in 1955 and 1956. She had a wonderful Nursing Career and taught a very detailed and meaningful History of Nursing Class. She retired 1957. She had a profound love of Nursing and also loved each of her students and had very high ideals for them. She wrote several hymns; it was very typical of her character and the love she gave to her students.
