Olof Åhlström, born in Stockholm, Sweden, about 1756, died in 1835. He was court pianist and musical instructor of the royal family, and bout 1790 was among the best dramatic composers. With Boman, he edited a collection of Swedish popular airs, "Walda svenska Folkdansar och Folkedar" (Stockholm), some of which were sung by Jenny Lind Goldschmidt, and for two years edited a Swedish musical periodical, "Musikaliskt Tidsfördrif." Works: 4 sonatas for pianoforte (Stockholm, 1783-1786); also operas, cantatas, and songs.
