Born: December 23, 1845, Hanover, Germany. Died: December 5, 1931, Bedford, Ohio. Ilse attended the Lutheran Missouri Synod teachers college in Addison, Illinois, and taught and played the organ at churches in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Chicago, Illinois; Brooklyn, New York; and Bedford, Ohio.
