Representative Text

1 You’re pledged to a service that never will end,
Walk well in the path He trod,
Be ready and willing to spend and be spent,
Make ev’ry day count for God.

Refrain:
Make ev’ry day count for God,
Make ev’ry day count for God;
In all that you do
Be faithful and true,
Make ev’ry day count for God.

2 Tho’ pleasure should tempt you to turn from His way,
Be loyal to Him you love;
The best you can offer will never repay;
Make ev’ry day count for God. [Refrain]

3 Go forth where He bids with a song in your heart,
Your feet with His Gospel shod;
With joyful endeavor do well your small part,
Make ev’ry day count for God. [Refrain]

Lizzie De Armond was a prolific writer of children's hymns, recitations and exercises. When she was twelve years old her first poem was published in the Germantown, Pa. Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns.
