1 يا ربُّ إني ضارعٌ
إليك فارحمني
ولا تكن مبتعداً
يا سيدي عني

2 فإن سكتَّ مُعرضاً
عني أيا ربي
أُشبهُ من قد هبطوا
في أسفل الجُبِّ

3 صوتَ تضرعي استمعْ
إذ أحتمي بكا
ثم يدِي أرفعها
بدار قدسكا

4 لا تتركَنّي سيدي
مع فاعلي الآثامْ
مع مبغضي حقَّ العلي
مع كارهي السلامْ

5 مخاطبي أصحابِهمْ
بأنعَم الكلامْ
والشر في قلوبهمْ
نارٌ لها اضطرامْ

6 يلقَون مثل شرهمْ
من صاحب الجلالْ
يرد في أحضانهمْ
كفعلهمْ في الحال

7 ويسقطون سقطةٌ
لأبد الأزمانْ
لأنهم لم يفهموا
مراحمَ الرحمانْ

Like MILES LANE (470), CORONATION was written for this text. Oliver Holden (b. Shirley, MA, 1765; d. Charlestown, MA, 1844) composed the tune in four parts with a duet in the third phrase.
