إليه تسترِحْ
صوتُ يسوعَ يدعو
فحِملَك اطَّرِحْ
صوتُ السلامِ الهادي
والصفحِ والنِّعمهْ
إيّاك يدعو دوماً
من عالمِ الظُّلمهْ

2 - يا تائهاً تعالا
يَهديكَ في سلامْ
صوت يسوعَ يدعو
كلَّ بني الأنامْ
إذا الدُّجى تمادى
حولَكَ بالحَزَنْ
فها سنا يسوعَ
يبدِّدُ الشَجَنْ

3 - يا مائتاً تعالا
إليه كي تحيا
صوت يسوعَ يدعو
للراحةِ العُليا
إن الوغى شديدٌ
والخَصمُ مُقتدِرْ
فاحمِلْ إذا سلاحَ الــ
ــمسيحِ وانتصِرْ

4 - يا سامعاً تعالا
لحضنِ ربِّكا
صوت يسوعَ يدعو
مُرَحِّباً بِكا
يدعو ذوي الخطايا
إذ حبُّه عظيمْ
كي يُقبِلوا إليهِ
ويرِثوا النُّعيمْ

Most British hymn writers in the nineteenth century were clergymen, but William C. Dix (b. Bristol, England, 1837; d. Cheddar, Somerset, England, 1898) was a notable exception. Trained in the business world, he became the manager of a marine insurance company in Glasgow, Scotland. Dix published various volumes of his hymns, such as Hymns of Love and Joy (1861) and Altar Songs: Verses on the Holy Eucharist (1867).
