1 Will you, go, sinner, go to the highlands of heaven,
Where the storms never blow, and the long summer's given;
Where the bright, blooming flowers are their odors emitting,
And the leaves of the bowers, in the breezes are flitting?
2 Where the rich golden fruit is in bright clusters pending,
And the deep-laden boughs of life's fair tree are bending,
And where life's crystal stream is unceasingly flowing,
And the verdure of spring is eternally growing.
3 Now while pardon's last hour is expiring in heaven,
And the last gracious call is on earth being given,
O haste! sinner haste, leave thy sinful behavior,
The commandments embrace and the faith of the Saviour.
4 Look by faith to the cross, and behold Jesus bleeding,
Then, ascended on high, at the throne interceding,
O, secure pardon now, while sweet mercy's extended,
Ere the harvest is past and the summer is ended.
5 He's prepared thee a home, sinner, canst thou believe it?
And invites thee to come, sinner, wilt thou receive it?
O, come, sinner, come; for the time is receding,
And the Saviour will soon and forever cease pleading.
