Representative Text

1 While counting my blessings o’er one day,
I followed the path that Jesus trod;
His was the thorn-crowned way:
Mine one of blessing from God.

Chorus:
Ev’ry sorrow of Jesus was blessing wrought for me,
His the thorns, mine the unfading crown;
The pathway that led Him to Calvary
Brought blessings, from heaven sent down.
Ev’ry burden He carried, for me, alas, was borne
That from sin I might ever be free,
And as daily I grow,
In His grace, this I know:
Ev’ry sorrow was blessing for me.

2 And kneeling before the throne of grace,
I praise Him for all these blessings mine;
His was the Garden place:
Father, not my will—but Thine! [Chorus]

3 One day I shall see Him as He is,
Nor thorn crown nor Garden agony;
Eternal glory His
Forever and ever shall be! [Chorus]
