Representative Text

1 When you are discouraged, and the way seems long,
Brighten it with cheer and song;
Look to God for comfort as you walk along,
Let the light of heav’n shine in.

Refrain:
Let the light of heav’n shine in,
Let the light of heav’n shine in;
Clear away the shadows from the heart of sin,
Let the light of heav’n shine in.

2 Flowers bloom in beauty all along the way,
Robins sing their merry lay;
Would you be as full of joy and song as they?
Let the light of heav’n shine in. [Refrain]

3 If your heart is longing to be filled with cheer,
Upward look, for joy is near;
Banish all your doubting, banish all your fear,
Let the light of heav’n shine in. [Refrain]
