When up to nightly skies we gaze. John Sterling. [Trust.] In Martineau's Hymns, 1873, this hymn is dated 1810. It is also in Horder's Congregational Hymns, 1884, and others. Sterling was born at Kames Castle, Bute, July 20, 1806, and died at Ventnor, Isle of Wight, Sep. 18, 1844.
