Blue Galilee

When pearly moonbeams silently

Author: Eliza M. Sherman
Tune: [When pearly moonbeams silently]
Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 When pearly moonbeams silently
Are falling on the silver sea,
‘Tis then in dreams, O Lord, with Thee,
I walk upon blue Galilee.

Refrain:
Oh, Galilee, blue Galilee!
Thy waves bring back His voice to me;
Like golden chimes on silver sea,
Oh, Galilee, blue Galilee.

2 Upon thy waves, blue Galilee,
I see a barque toss restlessly,
And hear that voice upon the sea,
That calms thy waves, oh, Galilee. [Refrain]

3 Lord, when our hearts are bowed with woe,
May faith blot out our every ill,
And closer may we come to Thee,
And hear Thy voice, “Peace be still.” [Refrain]
