Representative Text

1 ‘Tis sweet to know that Christ receives,
The sinner who o’er sinning grieves,
That he who comes, however vile,
Shall meet the Lord’s forgiving smile.

Refrain:
‘Tis sweet to know, yes, sweet to know,
That Jesus loves, the sinner so,
That from his side the crimson flow,
Doth wash him whiter than the snow.

2 ‘Tis sweet to know that on the tree,
He paid the debt for you and me,
That when we come with contrite hearts,
His precious love our Lord imparts. [Refrain]

3 ‘Tis sweet to know that keeping grace,
He will bestow thro’out the race,
If we his dear commands obey,
If we but work, and watch, and pray. [Refrain]
