Representative Text

1 Thy will to me, O God,
Is always wise and good;
I love thy will.
I have no earthly bliss
That can compare with this,
Thy loving hand I kiss,—
I love thy will.

Refrain:
Amen, amen to all thy will,
Amen to all thy word,
Whate’er thy will, I love it still;
Amen, amen, my Lord.

2 Thou hast enlarged my heart,
Taught me this better part,
To know thy will.
The mists have fled away,
And each more blissful day
I run thy will to obey,—
I love thy will. [Refrain]

3 My life of doubt is past,
My fears are gone at last,
I love thy will.
Mine is a life of joy,
No fears my soul annoy,
Thy will gives blest employ,—
I love thy will. [Refrain]

4 My ev’ry hour be spent,
My life a sweet consent,
To all thy will.
I want no other way,
Mine only to obey
Thy will from day to day,
Thy perfect will. [Refrain]

5 I love it more than life,
With it I have no strife,
I love thy will.
I shall forevermore,
On yonder blissful shore,
With all the saints adore
Thy blessed will. [Refrain]
