Representative Text

1 Tho’ oft thy pray’rs seem all in vain,
Tho’ God may seem no help to lend,
Keep praying on, O Christian heart,
And the blessing will descend!

Refrain:
With a Pentecostal show’r,
O the blessing will descend;
Keep praying on, with old-time pow’r,
And the blessing will descend!

2 The pow’r of pray’r can never die
Till time and all its scenes shall end;
Pray on and, from the throne on high,
O the blessing will descend! [Refrain]

3 The love of God that sleepeth not,
Above the world doth ever bend;
O let thy pray’rs with faith be fraught,
And the blessing will descend! [Refrain]
