The Ascension

Thou, O Christ, ascending high

Author: R. R. Morris
Tune: SEYMOUR (Weber)
Published in 2 hymnals

Representative Text

1 Thou, O Christ, ascending high
Into clouds of glory far;
Men on earth looked to the sky,
While their minds were filled with awe.

2 Angels in white garments stood,
Said "Why gaze ye up to heaven?
This same Jesus who is good
Shall return to earth again."

3 O Thou King of kings, who reigns
On Thy throne forever more,
Help us reach the blissful plains
Where we'll praise Thee o'er and o'er.

AMEN.
