Representative Text

1 There’s a story you have heard a thousand times,
Yet, I bring it to you once again;
‘Tis of Jesus’ mighty love and saving grace,
And the rugged cross where He was slain.

Refrain:
Do you wonder why I love to tell it?
I love to hear it, sing it, shout it?
Jesus lifted me from sin to glory!
Do you wonder why I love to tell it?

2 Yes, it was for you and me that Jesus died,
Thus He paid the debt we owed to God;
And there is no other way for man to come
It is only in the cleansing blood. [Refrain]

3 O the perfect peace that Jesus gave to me,
When I trusted Him to heal my woes;
Ev’ry cloud of doubt was moved—I saw the Light,
And I found ‘twas faith that brought repose. [Refrain]

4 This salvation may be yours just now, O soul,
Grace and mercy wait outside your door;
This the blessing and the joy by others found
Will be brought to you in endless store. [Refrain]
