Representative Text

1 There's a beautiful land
With a wonderful strand;
In the bible the story is told.
There the roses e'er sway
And the leaves ne'er decay,
And inhabitants never grow old.

Refrain:
In the midst of that land
There's a city most grand,
And the street is all paved with pure gold;
In the palace there,
Always sinless and fair,
We shall dwell and shall never grow old.

2 If our burdens of dross
At the foot of the cross
By our Saviour divine have been rolled,
We shall enter the gate
Of this city, where wait
Many dear ones who never grow old. [Refrain]

3 In this city most fair,
Free from sorrow and care,
Where the beauties of God now unfold,
Broken ties He'll restore,
We shall part nevermore,
And shall never, oh, never grow old. [Refrain]

4 Let me go to this land
With the wonderful strand,
And partake of its pleasures untold;
There, with heaven's pure throng,
Let us sing the "new song"
Thro' the ages and never grow old. [Refrain]
