Representative Text

1 There is a name that shall abide
When others fade and die;
Tho’ great of earth be all forgot,
This shall endure on high.

Refrain:
The name of Jesus, is the name,
The name in which I gladly trust;
For written it will be in gold
When others turn to dust.

2 When Kings of earth have lost their charms,
And all their jewels fade,
The Saviour will be King of kings;
To him be honors paid! [Refrain]

3 Though mountains from their seats depart,
And seas shall empty be,
Yet shall the name of Jesus stand
Thro’ all eternity. [Refrain]

4 His name is an eternal name,
It cannot pass away;
For God himself has sure decreed
That it shall live for aye. [Refrain]
