Representative Text

1 There is golden grain that your hands should gather,
In the harvest field so wide;
There are some who long have toiled and are worn and weary,
Go and labor by their side.

Refrain:
Be a reaper, be a reaper,
In the world’s great harvest field;
Be a reaper, the Master calls you,
Go, for Him the sickle wield.

2 To the work away and no longer tarry,
Fast the hours are speeding on;
Soon the night will fall around when the precious moments
Of the harvest day are gone. [Refrain]

3 All rewards this world to you gives will perish,
When you pass from time away;
But the wages earned by each true and faithful reaper,
For the Lord endure for aye. [Refrain]

4 If you labor now and for life eternal,
Gather in the golden store;
Happy songs of harvest home, with the saved rejoicing,
You will sing on heaven’s shore. [Refrain]
