Fill Your Place

There are humble tasks to do

Representative Text

1 There are humble tasks to do,
But of humble workers few,
And the Lord is calling you,
Calling you into the waiting field;
The lowly walks appall,
And before them many fall,
For the need, indeed, is great for all;
Will you not yield?

Refrain:
Fill a humble place;
Show your strength and grace;
If in menial tasks you’re true,
Much greater things will come to you.
Follow Christ your King;
To the promise cling;
Be the duty large or small,
Give Him your all.

2 There are duties small and great,
And for honor many wait,
But they fail to consecrate
Soul and body, spirit, heart and mind;
So many in the night
Who most need the gospel light,
Now are groping in a sorry plight, forgotten, blind. [Refrain]

3 There’s a humble place to fill;
Many souls are dying still;
You can save them, if you will,
Thro’ your love and by His boundless grace;
The task is one of love!
It will reach you, test and prove,
But you’ll win a smile from Him above—
Then fill you place. [Refrain]
