The Lord is near, Why should we fear?

Representative Text

1 The Lord is near!
Why should we fear?
His power will uphold us;
He is our stay,
Rejoice alway,
His mercy will enfold us.

2 The Lord is near!
Then may good cheer
Attend our expectation;
That in His strength
We win at length
And gain our soul's salvation.

3 The Lord is nigh!
Why should we sigh,
With needless worries troubled?
His loving care
For us will bear
Our cares tho' they were doubled.

4 The Lord in nigh!
To Him on high
We plead for grace and favor;
He keeps our hearts,
To us imparts
The peace of Christ our Savior.

Amen.
