The Bible is the grandest book

Representative Text

1 The Bible is the grandest book
The world has ever known,
'Twas given by the Lord, Himself,
And thus it stands alone.
It tells us of God's only Son
And tells us of His love,
That whomsoever shall believe
May have a home above.

Refrain:
Blessed Book of life, blessed Book of love;
Blessed Book of promises divine,
Pointing out the way to the home above,
Blessed Book that made the Saviour mine.

2 The Bible is our comfort when
Deep sorrows cross our way,
Its promises our hearts console,
And griefs no longer stay.
It soothes our sorrows, heals our wounds,
And points to Him on high,
Who suffered all that we might live
In mansions in the sky. [Refrain]

3 This book was given by the Lord
That we His will might know,
And live for Him as christians should,
On this old earth below.
The Bible is the grandest book
E'er seen by mortal eye,
And by its precepts I shall live,
And by it I shall die. [Refrain]
