1 Sweet are the roses of Sharon,
Fair and bright are its lilies,
Bending their heads to the breezes
‘Neath the bright glowing sun.
Sweeter than all is the message,
Which to the world has been giv’n;
“Suffer the children to come unto me,
For of such is the Kingdom of Heav’n.
Refrain:
Suffer the children to come unto me,
Of such is the Kingdom, of such is the Kingdom of Heaven,
Suffer the children to come unto me,
Of such is the Kingdom, of such is the Kingdom of Heav’n.
2 Jesus is calling the children,
Thro’ the words of his gospel,
Bidding us keep his commandments,
Ever grow in his grace.
We are secure in the message,
Which to the world has been giv’n;
“Suffer the children to come unto me,
For of such is the Kingdom of Heav’n. [Refrain]
3 Gladly we come at his bidding,
Bearing garlands of roses,
Ever rememb’ring his kindness,
At his feet we will kneel,
Trusting alone in the message,
Which to the world has been giv’n;
“Suffer the children to come unto me,
For of such is the Kingdom of Heav’n. [Refrain]
