Representative Text

1 Send out the story of Jesus,
Send it to far-off lands;
Spread the glad news of the gospel,
Tell it on sin-shadowed strands,
Where his dear name is unspoken,
Where his dear word is unknown,
Send out the story of Jesus,
Let his great love be shown.

Chorus:
Far and near, let his praise be sung,
Till our Savior’s name is on ev’ry tongue;
Ev’rywhere, to all lands abroad,
Send out the story of Jesus,
Worship and praise the Lord.

2 Send out the story of Jesus,
Tell it to waiting hearts;
Give them the word of salvation,
Give them the joy it imparts;
Teach them of Christ and his kingdom,
Never a message withhold;
Send out the story of Jesus,
Let the glad news be told. [Chorus]

3 Send out the story of Jesus,
Write it in words of flame,
Till the whole world is united,
Worshiping only one name;
Owning one God and one Master,
Praising one Lord and one King;
Send out the story of Jesus,
Blessing and joy ‘twill bring. [Chorus]
