Representative Text

1 Revival flames are kindling
In the hearts of sinful men;
And souls once dead in sinning,
Thro’ the Spirit live again;
O let the fire sweet onward
O’er this land from sea to sea;
Lord, send a great revival,
And the work begin in me.

Refrain:
Lord, set my heat on fire,
With holy zeal inspire;
And make the world’s revival my supreme desire.

2 Now enter, Holy Spirit,
And cleanse my inmost soul;
Oh, touch my lips this moment
As with a living coal;
Then send me unto others
Thy message to convey;
Around me souls are dying,
Must be reach’d without delay. [Refrain]

3 The hay, the chaff, and stubble
Must be all consumed away;
There’s only one foundation
That will stand the fire today,
Then let me warn the sinful
Now to make their building sure,
Upon the Rock, Christ Jesus
Which shall evermore endure. [Refrain]
