John Freeman Young (1820-1885)
Born: October 30, 1820, Pittston, Maine.
Died: November 15, 1885, New York City.
Buried: Old City Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida.
Young attended Wesleyan University, Middletown, Connecticut; Wesleyan Seminary, Readfield, Maine; and the Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, Virginia. Ordained a Protestant Episcopal minister, he served in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and New York, and became the second bishop of Florida in 1867. His works include:

Buried: Homelani Memorial Park, Hilo, Hawaii.
Son of John Rollin Langhern Desha and Eliza Brewer Desha, Stephen was educated in the Hawaiian schools, the Royal School and North Pacific Institute in Honolulu. He outlived four wives: Hatie Kamaka (1883), Mary Kaakopua Kekumano (1884), Rose Kapu, and Julia H. Keonaona (1913).
Desha was pastor of Napoopoo Church (1884-89) and Haili Church of Hilo (1889). He became supervisor of the County of Hawaii when the county government was inaugurated in 1905, and was elected to the third Board of Supe…

Joseph Mohr was born into a humble family–his mother was a seamstress and his father, an army musketeer. A choirboy in Salzburg Cathedral as a youth, Mohr studied at Salzburg University and was ordained in the Roman Catholic Church in 1815. Mohr was a priest in various churches near Salzburg, including St. Nicholas Church. He spent his later years in Hintersee and Wagrein.
