The land of peace and love

Representative Text

1 Pilgrims on the Heavenward journey,
Tell us of the land you seek;
'Tis a country whose great glory
Earthly lips can never speak.
When we pass, death's darksome portal,
We shall reach our home immortal,
Reach the city built above,
In that land of peace and love.

2 Do you never, never weary,
Does your courage never fail?
No, For help divine is near us,
When the storms of life assail.
Jesus even goes before us,
Light of Heav'n is shining o'er us,
As we onward, upward move,
To the land of peace and love.

3 Will you let us join your number,
Walk with you the way to Heav'n,
Yes, for "come," the Saviour whispers,
'Tis the watchword he has given.
Come, O come, thro' ages ringing,
To each heart in blessing winging,
Come to Christ, no longer rove,
Seek the land of peace and love.
