Representative Text

1 Once I was blind, I could not see the Saviour,
And, oh, how dark was all the world to me!
Lonely and sad, I tho’t that I could never
Find Him who died on Calvary for me.

Refrain:
He’s a friend indeed, a friend for time of need;
Gracious and tender has Jesus been indeed;
Oh! How He saves, and bears my many burdens!
He’s the only Friend that sinners ever need.

2 Once I was lame, and could not follow Jesus;
Wounded by sin, I fainted by the way;
Christ, the Physician, healed my broken spirit;
Now He sustains and leads me all the way. [Refrain]

3 Christ is my Lord, the wonderful Redeemer,
Light of my soul, my Prophet, Priest and King;
He is my all and I am His forever;
Help me His praise forevermore to sing. [Refrain]
