Representative Text

1 Once again the Christmas bells have brought us
Tidings of good will and peace;
Once again the angel lips have taught us
Music that shall never cease.
Over all the world the song is sounding,
Ringing in the happy morn—
"Glory!glory! Christ the Lord is born."

Refrain:
Night of joy, when the star shone out above,
Night of joy when the world received that gift of love;
Oh, night of joy! and triumphant golden morn;
Glory! glory! Christ the Lord is born.

2 Many years have passed since first the story
Echoed over Bethlehem’s plain;
Still we see the star in all its glory,
Still we hear the sweet refrain.
Ev’rywhere we find glad voices singing
Welcome to His natal morn—
"Glory!glory! Christ the Lord is born." [Refrain]
