When so dear a friend is thine?
Unto him without a murmur
Wilt thou not thy all resign?

Think how great his loving kindness,
Blessings past with joy recall;
Though thy life may have its trials,
He thy Lord hath borne them all.

2 Cling to him, thy only refuge
From the stormy winds that blow;
Cling to him whose hand hath led thee
