Representative Text

1 No room in all the city on that holy night,
The sacred night of Christ the Saviour’s birth,
When Bethl’em’s star shone o’er the earth with wondrous light,
The Lord of heav’n came down to earth.

Refrain:
Dear Saviour, come to me,
I’ll ever welcome Thee,
Within this heart of mine
Thy dwelling place shall be;
O Saviour come to me,
For there is room for Thee,
Within my heart there’s room for Thee.

2 No room in crowded Bethl’em for the newborn King,
No shelter but the poor and lowly stall,
Though angel hosts, rejoicing, sweetest praises sing
To welcome Christ the Lord of all. [Refrain]

3 Oh Jesus, blessed Jesus, there shall ever be
A dwelling place for Thee within my heart,
There’s room and loving welcome there, dear Lord, for Thee,
Oh, enter now and ne’er depart. [Refrain]
