My Heart Shall Be a Temple

Representative Text

1 My heart shall be a temple,
For Thee, my gracious Lord;
I hear Thy friendly summons,
I open at Thy word.

Refrain:
My heart shall be a temple,
Prepared for Thee alone;
I pray Thee come and enter,
Oh, make it all Thine own.

2 My heart shall be a temple,
A consecrated place,
Illumined by Thy glory,
The shining of Thy face. [Refrain]

3 My heart shall be a temple;
Come in, O Friend divine,
And keep it pure and holy,
This wav’ring heart of mine. [Refrain]
