Rv Jefferson Hascall USA 1807-1887. Born in Thompson, CT, he studied at Wilbraham Academy was ordained into the Methodist Church in 1829. He later became a minister and presiding elder over the Worcester Conference. He twice represented New England in the church's General Conference. He was considered an eloquent and powerful speaker and was considered responsible for the conversion over 150 people. Notice of his preaching engagements would fill the seats. He lived in Shrewsbury, MA, about 20 years and was also a public-spirited citizen and was universally respected. He favored education and the suppression of slavery.
