Hear The Angels Sing Again

Long ago the faithful shepherds

Author: Hattie Pope
Tune: [Long ago the faithful shepherds]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Long ago the faithful shepherds
Saw a star supremely bright
Heard the song of heaven's angels,
Through the gloom of evil's night.

Refrain:
Glory be to God in the highest,
Peace on earth goodwill to men;
Hearts uplifted to the Savior,
Hear the angels sing again, they sing again.

2 Shepherds found christ in a manger,
As they were by angels told;
To Him wise men brought their off'rings
Incense rich and purest gold. [Refrain]

3 Now in love my thoughts are going,
To far off Judea's plain;
Seems I see the star of beauty,
Hear once more the glad refrain. [Refrain]
