Our Darling

Ferguson, Andrew Carswell Fergus, was born in 1855 at Alexandria, near Dumbarton. The family soon after removed to Dumbarton and then to Glasgow, where he attended the University. In 1880 he entered the Theological Hall of the U. P. Church, and in 1883 that of the E. U. Church. On Oct. 15, 1884, he was inducted as minister of the E. U. Church at Arbroath. He resigned this charge on Oct. 9, 1888, and in the following year went to Australia. He is now (1905) officiating at Northcote, near Melbourne. His hymn, “Dear Lord, I now respond to Thy sweet call” [Faith and Penitence], was written in 1884, and appeared in the Glasgow Christian News of Sept. 19, 1885.
