Representative Text

1 Kirken er til Moder kaaret,
Har sin Gud og herre baaret
Mange Sønner, Døtre smaa,
Som Guds Øie hviler paa.

2 Hun er den, til Frihed føder,
Lovens Trældom fra sig støder,
Sanker Flokken i sit Skjød
Ei med Tvang, men Tale sød.

3 Thi den Sandhed, som hun lærer,
Naaden, hvorom Bud hun bærer,
Herren, som vi podes i,
Gjør os ret i Aanden fri;

4 Mens af Kjærligheden bundne,
Lydige vi blive fundne
Mod vor Gud og Herre god,
Fuld af Tro og trøstigt Mod.

5 Vilde Gud mangfoldiggjøre
Folket inden Kirkens Døre,
Hellige dem med sit Ord,
Gjøre Moderglæden stor!

6 Gjøre Børneflokken fager,
At i Fred den fremad drager
Syngende til Paradis
Herrens Navn Lov, Tak og Pris!
