Representative Text

1 Just as I am, so far away from Jesus,
Weary and worn with sin’s sad strife;
Lured by the world and hopes that soon deceived me,
To Thee I come for peace and life.

Chorus:
Lord, I turn to Thee, Blest Lamb of Calvary;
Wash me in the blood Thou didst shed upon the tree;
Pardon all my sin and make me pure within,
Thou Lamb of Calvary.

2 Just as I am, with heart so sad and weary,
With wasted life, with hope o’erthrown;
Long have I roamed o’er wilds so dark and dreary,
I turn me to my Father’s home. [Chorus]

3 Just as I am, without a preparation,
My hope I place on Calvary;
I find in Thee a glorious new creation;
OI bleeding Lamb, I come to Thee. [Chorus]

4 Just as I am, my Lord will hear my crying,
Pardon and cleanse my sins away,
Perfect my love while on His grace relying;
Jesus, my Lord, I come today. [Chorus]

5 Just as I am, Thy love, O gracious Savior,
Will bear me o’er life’s swelling tide,
Anchor my soul fast to the Rock of ages
So safely on the other side. [Chorus]
