Helps to bring the shower by and by,
Just a little sunshine clear and bright,
Drives away the shadows of the darkest night.

Shining, shining, thro’ the darkest night,
Scatt’rin g sunbeams ever clear and bright;
To the loving Father we belong,
And we bring Him praises in our happy song.

2 Just a little frown , some sunny day,
Helps to drive the brightness all away,
Just a little smile or word of cheer,
Helps to bring God’s sunshine and His presence near. [Refrain]

3 Jesus is our sunshine here below,
In our hearts He’s beaming as we go,
Let us all reflect the blessed light,

Telegraph, however, it was not until she was a widow with eight children to support that she started writing in earnest. She wrote articles, librettos, nature stories and other works, as well as hymns.
