1 Jesus, life and way to heaven,
Thee we have our promise given,
And in Thee we will confide,
For among all earthly voices
Thine alone our heart rejoices,
Be Thou hence our Strength and Guide.
2 Lead us through life's darksome mazes
Lift us o'er the thorny places,
Shield us from the parching sun.
Grant us strength when faint and weary,
Comfort when the way is dreary,
Guard us till our race is won.
3 May we follow Thee in meekness,
Help us overcome our weakness,
Melt our heart with grace and love.
Let Thy name be burned within us,
So that naught from Thee shall win us
Till thou callest us above.
