1 Jesus, in Thy transporting name
What glories meet our eyes!
Thou art the seraph's lofty theme,
The wonder of the skies.
2 Well might the heavens with wonder view
A love so strange as Thine;
No thought of angels ever knew
Compassion so divine.
3 And didst Thou, Saviour, leave the sky,
To sink beneath our woes?
Didst Thou descend to bleed and die
For Thy rebellious foes?
4 Oh, may our willing hearts confess
Thy sweet, Thy gentle sway;
Glad captives of Thy matchless grace,
Thy righteous rule obey.
Amen.
