Author: James Rowe
Tune: [Jesus calls for soldiers brave and true and strong]
Published in 1 hymnal

Representative Text

1 Jesus calls for soldiers brave and true and strong,
Those who will not waver, should the fight be long;
If you wish to serve Him, with a battle song,
Follow Jesus to the firing line!

Refrain:
On to the firing line!
Heed the call divine;
Buckle on your armor, raise the standard high!
Ever brave and true,
There’s a place for you;
Follow Jesus to the firing line!

2 Jesus calls for soldiers who will fight to win,
Soldiers who will never yield to doubt or sin;
If you thus would serve Him, hasten to begin;
Follow Jesus to the firing line! [Refrain]

3 Jesus calls for soldiers who would win a crown,
Ere they lay their armor or their weapons down;
If you long for honors, if you seek renown,
Follow Jesus to the firing line! [Refrain]
