Faithful To Jesus

1 I’ll try to prove faithful, dear Savior,
Thy precepts to love and obey,
And earnestly seek in Thy vineyard,
To labor while yet there is day;
The blood of Thy precious atonement
Doth cleanse even sinners like me,
So I’ll try to prove faithful, dear Savior,
I’ll try to prove faithful to Thee.

And shun the temptations of sin,
For vain are its gilded allurements,
When holy peace dwelleth within;
The power of Thy life giving Spirit,
My bulwark and fortress shall be,

I’ll try to prove faithful to Thee.

Tho’ shadows my way overcast;
Life’s trials are but for a moment—
Thy heaven forever shall last;
There dwelling in glory supernal,
My home with the angels shall be;
