Representative Text

1 If you in Heav’n would stay, throughout eternal day,
Self and sin must be denied;
To Jesus we must plead, He’ll make us free indeed,
And place us on the heav’nly side.

Refrain:
I’ll trust Him whatsoe’er betide,
I’ll trust Him, He has ne’er denied;
To Jesus I will plead, He’ll meet my every need,
And keep me on the heav’nly side.

2 O! sinner, come just now, and unto Jesus bow,
Give up all your sin and pride;
For Jesus is the way, just look to Him and say,
Lord place me on the heav’nly side. [Refrain]

3 And when my days are done, and I my race have run,
I must cross the chilly tide.
But Jesus will be there, I have no need to fear,
He’ll land me on the heav’nly side. [Refrain]
