Ierusalime Svinte

Representative Text

Lacremile s’or şterge, plâns nu s’a auzi,
Dorinţa se ’mplineşte, fericire va fi.

3 Oh ţară fericită a celor mântuiţi,
Tu dai odihnă dulce la toţi cei osteniţi.
Oh Doamne, cual tău sânge ce neai răscumpărat,
În patria vecinică condune îndurat.

The Abbey of Cluny was at that period at the zenith of its wealth and fame. Its buildings, especially its church (which was unequalled by any in France); the serv… Go to person page >

In some hymnals, the editors noted that a hymn's author is unknown to them, and so this artificial "person" entry is used to reflect that fact. Obviously, the hymns attributed to "Author Unknown" "Unknown" or "Anonymous" could have been written by many people over a span of many centuries. Go to person page >
