Representative Text

1 I will trust and will not fear,
Leaning on my Saviour’s breast;
At this moment Thou art near,
Christ my everlasting rest.
Thou art Mercy, Thou art Grace,
Thou art pity full and free;
Of my soul the dwelling place,
King of lover remember me.

2 Jesus, once for sinners born,
Now in heaven glorified,
Thou hast felt the sorrow-thorn,
Thou hast felt the shadow-tide;
Hear the pray’r to Thee I raise,
Sunlight in thy darkness be,
Even in these wintry days,
King of love remember me.

3 Saviour, Thou dost whisper Peace;
In Thy smile is light of Spring,
And the shades of doubting cease,
When to Thy dear hand I cling.
Great, O Master is Thy pow’r,
Wonders of Thy love I see;
Ev’ry day and ev’ry hour,
Lord, Thou wilt remember me.
