I Will Not Yield

Representative Text

1 I will not yield to the tempter,
I will not yield to sin,
God's power is able to keep me,
I will the vict'ry win.

Refrain:
I will not yield, I will be free,
Sin shall no more reign over me,
God will sufficient grace supply,
Before I'll yield, I'll die!

2 I will not yield to the tempter,
Christ died to set me free,
And rose for my justification,
And I will perfect be. [Refrain]

3 I will not yield to the tempter,
All heav'n to help me stands,
God plenteous grace will supply me,
Nor leave me in his hands. [Refrain]

4 I will not yield to the tempter,
God doth my heart incline
To yield myself to the Spirit
And do His will divine. [Refrain]

5 I will not yield to the tempter,
Let who will, walk in sin;
For he who today overcometh,
A crown of life shall win. [Refrain]

6 I will not yield to the tempter,
My soul is glory bound;
When Jesus cometh to claim me,
I would be spotless found. [Refrain]
