Representative Text

1 I wandered far in sin's dark maze,
With doubts and fears oppressed,
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
"Come unto Me and rest."

Jesus hath saved me, Jesus doth hold me,
Faithful and true is He;
Jesus is nearer, Jesus is dearer,
Than the whole wide world to me.

2 And O the satisfying peace
That comes from Christ my Lord;
In tempter's snare He is my strength,
I glory in His Word.

Jesus hath saved me, Jesus doth hold me,
Faithful and true is He;
Jesus is nearer, Jesus is dearer,
Than the whole wide world to me.

3 O sinner, Christ is calling you,
Why will you longer stray?
His blood was shed upon the tree
For you - O come today.

Jesus will save you, Jesus will hold you,
Faithful He'll be, and true;
He will be nearer, He will be dearer,
than the whole wide world to you.
