God hangs a mist o'er my eyes,
And so each step of the onward way,
He makes new scenes to arise.

So I go on, not knowing,
I would not know if I might;
I'd rather walk with my God in the dark
Than go alone in the night.

As I tread on another year,
But the past is still in God's keeping,
