Representative Text

1 I have a Friend, the best of all to me;
He gave His life that I His love might see;
He is my Friend through all eternity;
Jesus is the best Friend to me.

Refrain:
Jesus is the best Friend to me,
Jesus is the best Friend to me;
He knows me through and through,
His love to me is true;
His love to me is true;
Yes, Jesus is the best Friend to me.

2 I have a Friend, I wish you knew Him, too;
He came to me, my heart was so untrue,
He spoke the word—my life He did renew;
Jesus is the best Friend to me. [Refrain]

3 I have a Friend your heart will want to know;
He shed His blood to cleanse it white as snow;
He longs to come and cast our every foe;
Jesus is the best Friend to me. [Refrain]

4 I have a Friend, when toil and cares are o’er,
Who waits to greet us on the other shore;
Oh, what a joy to meet and part no more!
Jesus is the best Friend to me. [Refrain]
